Maksym, you didn't say which Solaris version you ran gftopk on.
Does gftopk itself fail, if you simply run it by hand?

I just tried the *current* gftopk on the larm1000.600gf that is at
http://tug.org/~karl/larm1000.600gf on both sparc-solaris2.7 and
sparc-solaris2.8 machines, and it *succeeded* both times.  Does it
succeed for you?

So, I surmise something else is going on.

It would take me a long time to download the whole ISO and install it on
Sparc.  So unless someone else can reproduce this, I suggest we simply
move ahead.  If there is a bug, we can always put a patch on the web page.

I generated the larm* pk fonts myself under Linux, at least -- russian
tldoc needed them.
