I forgot to submit 2.15, sorry.

Furthermore, there is only one script, altpdftex, which changes 
behaviour depending on how it is called when it runs. So the rest are 
symbolic links in my setup.

The 'make install' does not do this in TL. Actually, probably the best 
should be if texlinks should make the links for altpdftex. But 
thatwould require for TL to really adopt altpdftex. Currently, 
altpdftex has a bit of a limbo status in TL (but it is used extensively 
on Mac OS X where the PDF output format is very important, also for 
older projects which need dvips and such)
