Staszek Wawrykiewicz <staw at gust.org.pl> asks on Sun, 29 Jun 2003
06:00:57 +0200 (CEST) about spam that arrives with legitimate
addresses of list members in the From: line.
This has been a growing problem over the last couple of years:
spammers are using addresses from their pool of destinations in
the From: line, instead of putting bogus addresses there. The only
line in the headers that is reliable is the first Received: line;
everything else can be forged.
All that you can do is learn to recognize the trash from legitimate
mail, and carry on, sigh...
Lots of people are working on the spam problem, and partial solutions
will gradually be put in place.
