I just installed TL7 on RHL 7.2 (as root) accepting all defaults (ie just
hit I <RET> and let it rip, and I got the following:

[...lots of package names OK ...]

      package tex-ps
      package bibtex8bit
      package tldoc-english
  Support for UK English
         [ -> collection tex-langukenglish]
For selected packages:

/bin/gtar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Obviously something went missing, but what?

Then it goes on as normal:

Copy files listed in /tmp/.tmp_inst.1021/tex-langdutch.list
Copy files listed in /tmp/.tmp_inst.1021/tex-langfrench.list
[...etc...]
Done copying.

Clean fmtutil.cnf in /usr/TeX/texmf-var/web2c...

Set variant tree $SELFAUTOPARENT/texmf-var in /usr/TeX/texmf/web2c/texmf.cnf...
Done fixing texmf.cnf
Testing for /usr/TeX/bin//texconfig....
updating map files

All this looks fine, but then:

You should make sure that
is added to your PATH for future sessions.

Oops. Did something get left out if I do what appears to be an
all-defaults install?

And where has it hidden the binaries?
