        * cnf.c (kpse_cnf_get): Look for NAME.PROGRAM before NAME.
        (do_line): Save NAME.PROGRAM separately from NAME.

I think that I started looking at the kpathsea/web2c sources in late 1993
or 1994 (so my "rule" was true at that time), but I am really suprised
that this change was made *that long time* ago...
