Not exactly because your teTeX texmf location is
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.

So 

1 - fmtutil --all won't be run
2 - new pool files (if any) will be placed in
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/web2c/ and had to be transferred in
/usr/local/teTeX/texmf/web2c

well, updating with i-installer remains possible, but is not mac-user
friendly (afaik).
