An interesting glyph for the d'Alembert operator (aka quabla) I found in a
recent issue of << Annales de la Fondation Louis de Broglie >>. It looks
like a square, but the left and bottom stroke are stronger than the two
other strokes. This form is used together with \Delta for Laplacian and
inverted Delta for Nabla.
