An Example of the Use of the techexplorer Plugin

An important formula for the analysis of many algorithms is the one that says that the sum of the first n integers is n(n+1)/2. Here it is in a more elegant form using a techexplorer plugin window to display this formula in all its mathematical glory!

If the font size in the mathematical equation is too small or too large, right click on it. This will bring up a techexplorer menu that will allow you to change the font size. Do this by clicking on "options>Fonts" and then click on the the button to either increase or decrease the size of all fonts. The apply button lets you try out the new font sizes without dismissing the menu so that further adjustments can be made if the trial is size is still not right.

To "right click" on a Macintosh, do control-click.

If you do not see a mathematical equation at all, this means that either you have not downloaded and installed the plugin or you have not installed it correctly. Click here to goto the techexplorer download page. The free, introductory edition should be sufficient for this course.
