[Xy-pic] A small xy query

The drop, if there really is any, is very very small
  --- less that a pixel boundary on my screen.

View the PDF highly magnified (e.g. at 800 or 1000).
For me, the higher the magnification then the less the apparent drop.

This means that it is really just an artifact of the anti-aliasing
or hinting used by the PDF viewer in displaying the screen's contents.
