Good morning to all of you!

Yesterday a one week part time training programme on LaTeX was started in
the DST-Center for Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences in Banaras Hindu
University.

The course was announced in the month of July and around 200 applications
were received from Research scholars of different departments. Out of them
44 were selected for training.

The trainees were given ProTeXt-2013 DVD along with other open source
software like R, PSPP, Octave, Maxima, Scilab, WBibDB, LaTeX cad, TpX,
OpenOffice, GIMP, Geogebra, etc. The DVD also contained documentation
pertaining to the above software and LaTeX.

The training will conclude on 9th September, 2013. The training will be
conducted by D. Venu Gopal.
