[Tugindia] Bibliography labelling

Hi,
   Typically, the label of references in a bibliography are of the form [1] 
[2] [3]. Is there some way I can add a string before the number like [BP1], 
[BP2] [BP3]? There exists a method for the enumerate environment:  by 
redefining the variable 'labelenumi'. I was wondering if the same is 
possible for a bibliography.
