[Tugindia] Numbers inside margins

I want to format a document with numbered headings in the following format:

    1. Intro
     
        The para(s) of text goes here.


100. Results

        Blah...blah

The numbers are to be justified within a specified box, so that the
text is always aligned with the text in the para below.

Are there any packages that give this functionality? I looked at
hanging and it does not seem to do what I want. Any pointers in this
will be helpful.
