Since PostScript is a programming languages and the majority of
PostScript graphics are vector graphics consisting of spline curves
with infinite resolution, converting to a bitmap format will _always_
lose resolution.

The trick is to convert to a resolution that equals the resolution of
your output device. If you don't know yet which output device will
be used, you better stay in PostScript format, or convert to PDF
(which can also represent curves in similar manner as PostScript).
