I dont remember off the hook but it is given I believe in the Lamport book as 
also lshort (latex in 90 minutes) and LaTeX companion.  The size, as you have 
said is manipulated by the commands - so for default 10pt \Large is prob. 
12pt (or 14pt?) and \tiny may be 6pt. see in the book.
