[tug-support] Question

Hello I would like to know about compiler for latex file to ".pdf" and reverse of compiler(either ".pdf or .dvi" to ".tex". Latex to DVI 1.latex filename.tex2.xdvi filename.dvi  but for (.pdf)what? DVI to Latex?(.dvi -> .tex)? And how can I make reverse compile them? is it possible?I need your help about that.thanks
