dALLOWPSTRANSPARENCY

When compiling a file in LaTex using TexShop as editor, I frequently encounter with frequent stops the error message:
%%%% WARNING: Transparency operations ignored - need to use -dALLOWPSTRANSPARENCY

Can anyone give me any information on how to handle this problem?   It began occurring after I upgraded my iMac 27 computer running with Catalina OS to an i7 core with running Monterey OS.Many thanks in advance.
