[texhax] Tex Math font size adjustment

perhaps your concern is that your math fonts are from a different 
typeface than what is outside math, and the outside roman font is 
the Caslon font (at 9.5pt) that you are trying to invoke for the 
equation number, so in

    $$ \alpha + \beta = \gamma \eqno (2) $$

`(2)' appears in the math font, not in the outside roman font. 
Then

    $$ \alpha + \beta = \gamma \eqno \hbox{(2)}$$

might help and save you from repeating the font specification.
Or \textrm{(2)} instead of \hbox{(2)}, assuming that LaTeX is 
loaded, but I do not know whether APP invokes LaTeX.
