If you are using pdflatex then you have to convert the images to PDF.
A tool which converts images is ImageMagick:

  http://www.imagemagick.org/

You can run convert from a command line:

  convert eulercircles.PICT eulercircles.pdf

Or, if you have to convert many if them:

  for f in *.PICT; do convert $f ${f%%PICT}pdf; done
