Thanks I didn't see that. I installed glossaries.sty and several other
sty files in my document root, and a couple additional dependancies,
easy.

However the following yields no error and no glossary!

%preamble
\usepackage[xindy,toc]{glossaries}
\makeglossaries
\newcommand{\gloss}{\newglossaryentry}

%document body
\gloss{IPAM}{description={{\em Internet Protocol Address Management}}}
\gloss{RA}{description={The next generation, future-state {\em
Reference Architecture}}}
\printglossaries

In my rendering process I execute pdflatex 3 times. here is the only
glossary mention in the third run:

*hyperref using default driver hpdftex*
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/hyperref/hpdftex.def) (./glossaries.sty
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/base/ifthen.sty)
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/xkeyval/xkeyval.sty
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/generic/xkeyval/xkeyval.tex)) (./mfirstuc.sty)
(./xfor.sty) (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/amsmath/amsgen.sty)
(./etoolbox.sty (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/etex-pkg/etex.sty))
(./glossary-hypernav.sty) (./glossary-list.sty) (./glossary-long.sty
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/tools/longtable.sty)) (./glossary-tree.sty)
) (./draft-info-request.aux)
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/psnfss/ot1phv.fd)
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/context/base/supp-pdf.mkii
[Loading MPS to PDF converter (version 2006.09.02).]
) (/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/hyperref/nameref.sty
(/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/oberdiek/refcount.sty))
(./draft-info-request.out) (./draft-info-request.out)

...am I missing something simple?
