Im not sure if this has something to do with latex in general or TeX,
but I finally was able to extract a particular glyph from an opentype
font. This is the command:
{\font\1="Linux Libertine O"\1 \Huge{\XeTeXglyph2161}}
Does anybody know of something shorter or better?
