[texhax] apostrophe in Latex

I take it that you mean they are missing from the math fonts.  If so does
this help?

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\begin{document} 
$a\mbox{'}$
$a\text{'}$ % requires amsmath
\end{document} 

If not, please be more explicit.
