Although I have little (?no?) hope of HTML 5 ever
becoming a reality (probably a Good Thing [tm], IMHO,
given the current apparently /ad hoc/ criteria by
which features have been carried forward, dropped,
or introduced  /ex nihilo/), I do wonder whether its
putative <canvas> element might provide a suitable
basis  for the display of page-description languages
such as DVI ...
