You can use the package multicol [\usepackage{multicol}] And call the
multicolumn as follows:

\begin{multicols}{2}

{

Text is here

}

\end{multicols}

Subject: [texhax] Switching between one and two columns

I think I have read somewhere that it is possible to switch from one- to
two-column and back in the middle of a page. Whicj package do you use for
that?

Tom
