[texhax] verbatim functionality with normal font spacing

Hi,

In listings and verbatim, you get a typewriter spacing that uses tons
of space. It preserves columns which I understand the need for, but
it uses so much space that long examples will not fit on one line.

Let me state what I need and maybe someone can point me to a package.

I want to type the follow

/begin{somePackage}
<foo>
	<bar>Hello world</bar>
</foo>
/end{somePackage}

The output I would like.
1.) Line numbers on the left
2.) A frame
3.) Three lines as I typed them
4.) An indent on the second line as I typed
5.) Uses nice font, with tight spacing instead of space robbing column
preserving typewriter format.

thanks,
joey
