[texhax] footnote index font problem

Hi, 
 
   I have a problem using footnote. If I write something like "blahblah\footnote{blah blah}.", there appears a wide gap (almost a letter wide) between the superscript footnote index and the full stop. Is there a way to reduce the width of the gap?
