I never managed to track down such failures to remove such registry
keys.  In all cases that I encountered, the connection with the file
extension WAS removed, so this failure was fairly harmless.

But in this case, since it concerned an update, the registry key
would have been recreated in any case.

By the way: bitmap2eps is a little wrapper script to convert bitmaps
to eps files which can be invoked by right-clicking a bitmap.
