Hi

I too (but on Mac OS X) many years ago changed ownership of /usr/local/texlive
to me

Spares quite a few hassles in various situations.

TeX Live Utility detects it and does not use sudo then.

Thus many years ago I manually created (as root) /usr/local/texlive and changed ownership of this directory to me. Can MacTeX bi installed by an ordinary user if this additional step is done manually using sudo?
