Hi Keith,
I must admit that I don't have Windows and thus can't reproduce your
problem.  But I agree with you that c:\Windows\system32 is quite
unfortunate as a current working directory for many reasons.  I would
expect that the default working directory is derived from the
environment variable %USERPROFILE% on Windows.  This is quite
unfortunate either but a halfways reasonable workaround for a
braindead system.

It would be nice if Siep can look into it.  Don't know whether she has
enough time ATM.
