[tex-live] Restoring from a backup to TEXMFLOCAL?

In the case at hand, I just re-installed from CTAN to my TEXMFLOCAL. Next time (? it is not every day that a package I want to keep is removed from the TeXLive distribution) I will know about using directly the backups, thanks.
