Is this because TexLive is installed with MacOSX and is integrated to other parts of the system? I had a similar issue with postgres, but removed it and then did a home brew install. I really like the cleanliness of the homebrew install, keeping everything in the same place. Thanks! Ty

Is there a homebrew install for MacTex? Does it install MacTex live? I've done a bit of searching but couldn't come up with a conclusive formula, and would prefer some input before installing. Thanks! Ty

MacTeX is a 'native' Mac wrapper around TeX Live (plus some Mac-specific
extras). As such, you install it like any other Mac program: no brew
involved. Just download the installer from http://tug.org/mactex
