[tex-live] mptopdf problem: texmf.cnf not found.

Hi!

I have TeX Live 2009 and MinGW/MSYS installed on 64 bit Windows 7 system.

My TeX Live install seems to work fine except that I cannot use mptopdf.
For example, if I try to create a pdf file from a metapost eps file
named logo.1,
I get the following error:

I can't find the format file `mptopdf.fmt'!

MPtoPDF 1.3.3 : logo.1 is converted to logo-1.pdf

And logo-1.pdf is not created.

It appears that somehow, MSYS interferes with my TeX Live install, and
the search
path is prefixed with "/msys/1.0".
Please help!
