I can't reproduce this problem.

Can you send us the output somehow?  Please send us compressed files
in order to prevent "smart" mail software from re-encoding them.

If you still have an older version of TeX Live on your system, can you
send us the output of tlmgr --help you get on this system too?

The output of the commands below is quite helpful too:

  locale
  set | grep LESS
