[tex-live] TeX install on single-layer DVD

Thanks to all the helpful people that answered my query
(Karl Berry, Reinhard Kotucha, George White, Robin Fairbairns,
I hope I did not leave out anyone)!

Having resigned myself to the fact that a CD is no longer enough for
a standard TeX install, I update my wish as follows:

please make a *single layer* DVD with *fool-proof installers*
(as much as humanly possible...) of TeXLive (and ProTeXt?)
   for all major platforms.

This way I could duplicate the DVD and give copies around,
also to students that are not computer-savvy.
I only know Macintosh. If a windows/linux student turns up saying
"the installer does not work on my machine", I cannot be of much help.

Thank you in advance!

Yours sincerely,
Gianluca Gorni
