Does it search also texmf-local? ~/texmf ?
Here duplication is far from harmless as if I have foo.sty (v 0.01) in
texmf-local then even if foo.sty in texmf-dist/2099 is v 104.7 one in
texmf-local takes precedence (in usual settings). So I am *really*
interested in your script
