I only said that nothing breaks in the majority of cases, not in all cases.

And one is right on both accounts :)

This wasn't intentional on our part, simply a mistake that slipped
through unnoticed.

No, I haven't changed anything yet, but I will do it after we release
as a part of regular updates. The problem was not deemed critical
enough to risk introducing new bugs and delay the release even
further.
