Thanks, --datadir works all right!
In fact, I thought, that there was some auto-detection of the data-prefix,
dependent on the placement of texmf-dist, but it seems that's no more true.
JFYI, --datarootdir give an error:
=== configuring in ncurses (/tmp/texlive-work/Build/source/work/libs/ncurses)
configure: running /bin/sh ../../../libs/ncurses/configure '--prefix=/tmp/prefix' '--datarootdir=/tmp/prefix' '--enable-tetex-build' '--bindir=${exec_prefix}/bin/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' '--libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' '--enable-static' --cache-file=/dev/null --srcdir=../../../libs/ncurses
configure: error: unrecognized option: --datarootdir=/tmp/prefix
Try `../../../libs/ncurses/configure --help' for more information.
configure: error: ../../../libs/ncurses/configure failed for ncurses
configure: error: ../../libs/configure failed for libs
Cheers, Peter
