I've just re-booted the machine on which I installed TeX Live 2008, and I am disturbed to see two new icons on my desktop : TeXdoc GUI, and PS_View. No other installer of which I am aware would add icons to the desktop without first seeking permission; I do not think the TL installer should do so either. ** Phil.
