eh? Scripting languages are platform independant? The guys at [insert
language here] have compiled against native libraries and done the
hard work for you.

By default on OpenBSD no. You can install it using the package
manager. We have ksh and sh installed by default.

Most linux systems seem to think it is ok to ln -s /usr/bin/bash
/bin/sh. Do you?
