[tex-live] package dependencies

I still only have MiKTeX 2.4 installed here. So here is a look into
acronym.tmp from acronym.cab from MiKTeX 2.5:

Does not seem to observe any dependencies, either. OTOH, MiKTeX does
not need to do so because it is able to install missing packages on
the fly, if this option is switched on in the MiKTeX options (and if
there is a MiKTeX cab file available for the respective package, of
course).
