Hmm.  xdvipdfmx uses FreeType 2, while ttf2pk uses FreeType 1.  These
are two completely different libraries (the former called libfreetype
and the latter libttf).

I think Jonathan provided fixes recently for the problem in the first
mail.

Within TeXLive, ttf2pk's `configure.ac' should be removed.
