Apparently the direct answer is no :(.  The question was asked on one of

I see no signs that the developers care about it or are working on it.
Sigh.  Couldn't hurt if you added your voice to the chorus of people who
want it, if you feel like writing them.

The workarounds which Norbert and Frank posted are it, I guess.
