Well, with the added suffix rule, it would be easier, but it is
already possible:

  $ kpsewhich --format='opentype fonts' LMSansQuotation8-Regular.otf
  /software/oss/Text/teTeX-3.0/share/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/lm/LMSansQuotation8-Regular.otf
