[tex-live] Problems compiling on alpha

There are some problems compiling (in fact configuring) on alpha (and/or
others):

configuring in xpdf
...
checking for POSIXized ISC... no
../../../../TeX/libs/xpdf/configure: AC_PROG_CC_STDC: command not found
checking for c++... c++


But worse:
configuring in utils/lcdf-typetools
...
checking build system type... Invalid configuration `alphapca56-unknown-linux-gnu': machine `alphapca56-unknown' not recognized
configure: error: /bin/sh ../../../../TeX/utils/lcdf-typetools/config.sub alphapca56-unknown-linux-gnu failed

Is it enough to copy config.sub from somewhere else to lcdf-typetools?
