I compiled it using IBM C compiler, and AIX binaries from TeX Live
shouldn't be linked with libgcc.

Beate, which binary are you trying to run? What is it's md5sum, and
what does "ldd <program_name>" show?

That would be nice to know. I would expect them to work.
