[tex-k] Feature request for Kpathsea

    Is it possible to let Kpathsea find my "chap1.tex" file?

If you want kpathsea to search TEXINPUTS, don't use "..".
Instead, add the relevant directory to the variable.

The point of specifying ./ or ../ or /... is precisely not to check the
path, but to give an explicit location. I understand the idea of having
the ../ be checked relative to each element in the path, but that is not
how it was ever intended, or implemented. I think the simpler behavior
is preferable ...
