Yes, but that's only the text on the command line. Inside the PDF file
there is, for pdfeTeX (!), invariably:

/Producer (pdfTeX-1.20a)
/PTEX.Fullbanner (This is pdfTeX, Version 3.141592-1.2...

...which is annoying, as e. g. one can't really trace the engine that
created a PDF file. And you can't tell about acceptance of the e-engine.

Maybe i'm in the wrong list, just thought that because pdftex.mk tells
infovore at xs4all.nl that it might be something for Olaf.
