[tex-k] [bug] minus sign in MetaPost labels disappears with dvips(k) 5.90a

Hello,

recently I posted a bug report concerning dvips(k) 5.90a and MetaPost to
de.comp.text.tex

The problem is more important as with the new LaTeX ltxbase is broken
and MetaPost and pdfLaTeX cause trouble sometimes

Is there any workaround for dvips already?
