Herbert,

I got it in the correct place:

david-arnolds-macbook-pro-2:pstricks darnold$ pwd
/usr/local/texlive/2010/texmf-dist/tex/generic/pstricks

Used sudo chown to change the owner and sudo chgrp to change the group ownership.

total 720
drwxr-xr-x 10 root wheel 340 Jun 7 08:16 config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 23397 Sep 10 2010 pst-fp.tex
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root wheel 2734 Jan 12 2006 pst-key.tex
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 54 Nov 4 2010 pstPlain.tex
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 14874 Feb 11 2010 pstricks.con
-rw-r--r--@ 1 root wheel 121371 Jun 7 11:07 pstricks.tex
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 121362 Apr 23 15:40 pstricks.tex.old
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 70604 Nov 15 2010 pstricks97.tex

Could not get rid of the @ symbol. Not sure what to do with that.

I can report however, that this cured the problem.

Thanks.

David.
