[pdftex] Is \pdfprotrudechars=1 different from =2?

In the "new" 1.21a manual version (e. g. as shipped with teTeX-3.0 or on
CTAN) the differenct cases 0, 1, and >1 are described (but not yet very

Thanks, noted (i had thought about this one), will do in next revision.
It's also rather silly that the date string is auto-generated from
\the\year etc.
