yes, i guess they should always be recovered, and the magic point with
these 1/3 and 2/3 is (this got not clear from the recent discussion, but
it seems that Boguslaw mentioned it in an e-mail in 2005), that such
control points give a constant travel speed on the line between A and B
for the inbetween parameter t running from 0=A to 1=B.
